Hi, I'm Ethan Owner and Founder of Oak & Ember Outdoor Living. I began my career as a bricklaying apprentice working for a company specialising in bespoke extensions, loft conversions and full scale renovations. During these jobs I learned aspects of bricklaying, plastering and concreting. I earned my level 2 NVQ in Bricklaying, and quickly wanted to learn more trades to build on my skills, so I began an apprenticeship in Drylining and Plastering, I did this for 2 years during Covid and like many I wasn't able to complete my qualification. But instead of giving up I decided to continue to learn more and more which led onto outdoor  carpentry which I quickly fell in love with, building decking, building countless fences and learning how to build pergolas.Â
At Oak & Ember, I believe great craftsmanship is about more than just construction, it's about understanding each customer's vision and bringing it to life with honesty, professionalism and care. From the first conversation to the final fixing, I am committed to delivering a finish that exceeds expectations.

As a family man, I understand the importance of creating outdoor spaces where memories are made. That's why every project is built to last, using quality materials and proven construction techniques. When you choose Oak & Ember, you're not just hiring a contractor, you're hiring someone who genuinely cares about the finished result and your experience throughout the project. I look forward to helping you create an outdoor space you will be proud of for years to come.
My passion for outdoor construction started with a simple goal, creating spaces that families can enjoy for years to come. What began as general handyman work quickly developed into a specialist focus on transforming gardens into beautiful, functional outdoor spaces. .Â
Over time I've built a reputation for quality workmanship, reliability and attention to detail. Whether it's a bespoke deck, a bespoke pergola or a new fence of any style, I take pride in treating every project as if it were being built for my own home.
This is Mason, Oak & Ember's reliable labourer always there when you need him and willing to graft like no one's business, also a great friend for over 20 years.
